TechFloor Pokemon Tournament Official Rules*

 

  • The matches will be a best of three double elimination tournament. Players will build a team consisting of six Pokemon and select four for the use of each battle. They will be double battles.

  • Players must use a copy of Pokemon X, Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby, or Pokemon Alpha Sapphire for the tournament. Players may use any member of the 3DS or 2DS families. X and Y rules will be used for players using Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

  • No two Pokemon may share the same National Pokedex number, Nickname, or Held Item.

  • Nicknames must not be offensive. Any player found to have an offensive nickname on their Pokemon will be disqualified.

  • All Pokemon will be set to Lv. 50.

  • The following Pokemon are banned: Mewtwo, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Zekrom, Reshiram, Kyurem, Meloetta, Keldeo, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion.

  • Pokemon and held items must be legitimately obtained. Any player found to have Pokemon or held items obtained through illegitimate means will be disqualified immediately.

  • Pokemon are allowed to Mega Evolve during the match. However, the following Pokemon can not mega evolve: Beedrill, Pidgeot, Slowbro, Steelix, Sceptile, Swampert, Sableye, Sharpedo, Camerupt, Altaria, Glalie, Salamence, Metagross, Latias, Latios, Rayquaza, Lopunny, Gallade, and Audino.

  • Players are allowed to take notes during their matches. They must use a new, clean sheet of paper for each new match.

  • Players may use headphones/earbuds to listen to game audio during their match. The headphones/earbuds must be clearly and visibly plugged into the console.

  • Players must submit a team list to the event staff prior to the start of the event.

 

*This event is for the entertainment of fans. It is not an official event and cannot be used as entry into Regional, National, or World tournaments. This event is not affiliated with the Pokemon Company or Nintendo.
